In Newport News, Va., the Virginia Living Museum will feature Water|Ways, a Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition, in the VLM’s changing exhibit gallery beginning May 27 through July 9.

Water is an essential component of life on Earth. Water’s impact on humans is not just biological and environmental, as a coastal community it serves as a source for peace and contemplation. Water|Ways focuses on the numerous relationships between people and water and how we can positively contribute to that relationship.

Kids are invited to the craft table where they can create their favorite water animal and add it to the VLM water mural. Guests are welcomed to enter our “Surf Zone,” where they can really put their balancing skills to the test!

We encourage our guests to explore the interactive exhibit and share their memories and personal connections to water.
